Having Fun

So as some of you know, I was forced to have back surgery in September.  By October I was completely off of pain meds, though after several years on that terrible stuff, withdrawals were a tough "street-fight".  Recently, after training, I've been needing an Aleve but not much else.  Yesterday I had a blast, center judging a tournament here in Las Vegas for about nine hours.  I haven't been on my feet that long, moved that much, or had as much fun in years.  Since then ... no pain!  NONE!!!…

46 AND COUNTING

This year will be the 46th year that I have been studying Goju-Shorei.  And I’m still learning.

I’ve learned that bones break (16) and one should take better care of their body.

I’ve learned that age is a limiting factor and I wish I were younger.

I’ve learned to respect the struggle of advancing students.

I’ve learned the importance of a healing modality in the martial arts.
