Martial Arts for the 21st Century

Allow me to introduce Master Stone who will, from time to time, be offering advise on owning and running a martial arts school.

Bobby Stone began competing in martial arts in 1986. Since then he has been awarded over 100 gold medals and earned the State, National, and Jr. Olympic Champion titles of the Amateur Athletic Union. As an instructor, he has trained numerous national and Jr. Olympic champions.  In 2003, Bobby was recognized as the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Instructor of the Year, in 2010 earned his 3rd Dan in Goju-Shorei Weapons Systems, earned his 6th Dan black belt in 2012 in tae kwon do, earned 6th Dan Kukkiwon in 2013, and in 2015 became a Dan certifier for Kukkiwon.  In 2016 Bobby hopes to finally complete his goal of obtaining his black belt in the Goju-Shorei open hand system.

In 2005, he earned the prestigious recognition and position of one of the few AA Amateur Athletic Union officials. In 2010 he was elected as the Georgia district chair to represent AAU tae kwon do in Georgia. Two years later he was appointed as the Regional chair and in 2014 it was announced that Bobby, along with Adirondack chair Joe Hasan, would officially take over as event directors for the AAU Jr. Olympic Games for tae kwon do.

In 2004 Bobby opened Dacula Family Sports, a 16,000 square ft., multi-sport complex in Dacula Georgia. Over the last 12 years the business has continued to grow and expand and now offers  tae kwon do, dance, gymnastics, cheer tumble, music lessons, and an after school program. In 2016 Dacula Family Sports plans to expand with a new facility offering volleyball, football, and other sports.

In addition to his martial arts achievements, Bobby holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University.  His most valued accomplishment is being a father to Robert E. Stone IV and Elizabeth Aislynn Stone! His success, both on and off the TKD mat, has created a winning combination of a martial arts master, revered instructor, and successful entrepreneur.
