Martial Arts for the 21st Century

The picture barely describes what happened to Master Kathy Wieczerza’s house in the Nashville flood. The 40 year old house was a total lose, and like many, if not the majority, of the people in Nashville there was no flood insurance.

Kathy and her family got out with the clothes on their backs – literally the clothes on their backs. But they are alive due to her fast thinking and even faster acting.

But that isn’t the story.

The story is that within one day her students from Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky and Missouri dropped everything, took leave from their jobs, cancelled vacations and classes, loaded up trucks, bought airline tickets, drove and flew to Nashville.

No plans other than to get to their instructor and friend, and help.

No places to stay, figuring it out as they went. Totally focused on Kathy.

I can think of no better definition or example of a martial artist than that.

There are several ways to help Kathy and her family get back on their feet:

Go to any Sun Trust Bank and make a donation to the:

Wieczerza Family Irrevocable 2010 Gift Trust

Account number ending in: 8732

Or go to this website to make a donation.

And offer up a prayer that your students would do the same for you if necessary.
