Gregg Townsley has not received any gifts yet
Soke Dave and his lovely wife are my friends, our friends actually. And for a time, when I lived in Nevada, neighbors.
Now, a healthy 12-hour drive away, Dave is the clanging bell in my head that says I need to get healthy again, be healthy again and work out like the martial artist I trained to be intermittently over the last thirty-some years.
I'm a veteran Kenpo man, trained under three Daves and a Dennis--Dave Hebler, who awarded me my black belt rankings in American Kenpo; Dave German, who colored it all pretty and painful like; Dave McNeill, who convinced me there were weapons I could study in the martial arts that didn't feel foolish; and Dennis Hebler (Dave's brother), who stripped the BS from the stuff I had learned and convinced me that simpler is better, that style is (often times) stupid, and that brutal is the point of it all.
A pacifist at heart--I love how that word is spelled--my wife Nancy and I live in Portland, Oregon where we are both winding down what I hope is the end of our working lives and winding up for the rest of our lives.
Nancy is the managing editor of two local newspapers. With her help, I write and publish historical fiction, set in the late 1880s in Nevada. You can find my books--"East Jesus, Nevada," "Lady of the Lake," "The Pinkerton Years," "True Believer" and others on Amazon.com.
