The knife is obvious and it has always been a part of the system.

As for the magazine, you’ve probably at least heard about rolling up one end and using it in a similar fashion to a folded up fan, or “tessen”…

But what is this about a carabiner?

Well… Hang on to your hats – because the “winds of change are a blowing.”

Actually, if you’ve been involved in Goju-Shorei Weapons at any time in its over 20 year history, you’d know that the system has ALWAYS been changing and evolving. If you haven’t noticed that, then you haven’t been paying attention.

Soke is - not has been, but is - always about “change for the good” and positive, healthy growth.

I have invested a lot of time over the last 5 years looking at what we do, why we do it, and how we can add to and improve what is already there, both in content and delivery. I’ve tested and changed and modified and added, and will continue to do so.

What do I mean? What am I talking about? The easiest way to do this is to share with everyone the “new” Yellow and Orange versions so that you can see how I’m changing the format at each rank and so that it will become obvious that while it may SEEM different, it really is all the stuff we used to do at Yellow and Orange, rearranged a bit, with some more (hopefully you’ll think really cool and valuable) stuff added in.

Goju-Shorei Weapons System – Gen2 is about the next natural and systematic evolution of what Soke began and continues to actively challenge me to grow. And yes – those sounds you may hear in the background are indeed the sounds of Soke impatiently grumbling, stamping his foot, and drumming his fingers. He has been doing those things in my not so general direction - verbally on the phone, mentally, and via electronic messages ever since I shared Gen2 with him when I visited in early June…

I get it, Sir. I really do. Here. I’m ready to step forward and share what I’ve been working on.
