It is with deep, deep regret and sadness that I report on the death of my Tai Chi instructor, Mark Lord. He died March 19th of a heart attack while teaching a class.
Mark was remarkable person: a professional trumpet player and teacher; a kind, thoughtful and giving Tai Chi instructor. He spoke Chinese fluently and had lived in Taiwan for some number of years.
His Tai Chi skills were almost magical, and his soft spoken manner and demeanor could lull you into believing he had no martial arts ability. That misconception was often corrected by finding the doubter on the floor and/or in great pain.
The irony is that an artist friend of mine was going to paint a picture of my teachers soon, and Mark was one of the last people I would have thought would not be around for that project.

Very nice tribute, Dave. He was truly an amazing person/instructor. He will be missed.
