Martial Arts for the 21st Century

I've put on the white belt again in the Machado BJJ class at West Coast Martial Arts in Gardnerville, Nevada. School owner, KJN George Fujii (center of picture), started a BJJ Executive Class for those of us who are 50 plus - I barely made it under the wire.

Being able to don a white belt and a beginner's mind is such a joy for me. I can't wait to get to class and roll on the floor learning mat chess, then proudly display the new skid marks on my face to my wife.

I come home wringing wet, tired, bruised and smiling from ear to ear. I'm completely inspired and energized by the beginners mind.

I encourage all martial arts school owners to open an Executive Class in their school in what ever art they teach. It's an untapped market for the most part, and one that will expand your reach and presence in your community.

I am returning to the mat after a few years off.  I feel like I should being all my belts back and turn them all in.  I feel like a beginner again.  I would not feel bad at all about being white all over again.

Thanks!
